Calling Me Home is a story of hope, a story of love and a story of home. The musical premieres on 17 August 2017 at the Joburg Theatre with an all-star cast of 33.
A young woman, Grace, prepares to leave the country of her birth. Her safety is threatened by war and she is forced to flee, to abandon everything she loves for the uncertainties of a new urban jungle, where concrete structures block out the stars in the sky.
As she journeys across the savannah and the ocean to this new home, she meets others like her, with similar stories of survival, compassion and courage. They become her friends, her travelling companions, her family. Amongst them she finds a love ‘so strong that it tears the night sky apart’.
But light is never far from darkness and in the dark there is danger. Where will Grace find her true home? Follow her as she journeys to a country that doesn’t know her, under a sky that won’t ease her longing.

We are calling all young stars who are in high school and live in Gauteng and surrounding provinces.
Send us a video clip of yourself singing and you could be chosen to be in the brand new musical, Calling Me Home, which opens at the Joburg Theatre in August 2017.
Entries need to reach us by 28 April 2017.
Our experts will narrow the entries down to 20 finalists. The finalists will perform in front of a live audience and a panel of judges. The two brightest stars will join the original cast of Calling Me Home!
